When heroes come together…
When it was announced that DC’s four main shows, Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow would all crossover with one another in a four-night event, I was pretty excited, apart from the thought of having to watch an episode of Arrow. Luckily, for two of the four episodes, the crossover is everything I was hoping for – fun, exciting and some great group shots. But when the other two shows do little to contribute at all, it lets the team down.
The event began on Supergirl, which unfortunately only devoted the last thirty seconds of the episode to setting up the crossover. On Flash however, things picked up pace. Long story short, a species of aliens called ‘Dominators’ were on their way to Earth to rid it of the Meta-Human threat. It was a great episode, and brought all four shows together brilliantly.
Then it was Arrow’s turn, and instead of focusing on the crossover, it focused entirely on it’s own show and it’s own cast. The even more annoying thing was it wasn’t even a good episode. With Arrow thankfully out of the way, it was Legends of Tomorrow’s turn to bring the crossover to a close, and did so with style. This is the episode where we get all the heroes suited and booted, going into battle side by side.
On the whole, this crossover did feature moments of pure greatness, but when only half the episodes actually focus on the crossover, things slow down. And, honestly, I didn’t like the enemy during the crossover. We live in the age where faceless armies of CGI aliens have been used and used again, and it would’ve payed of greatly for the crossover to use The Legion of Doom that Legends seems to be slowly assembling as the villains. It would’ve had a lot more impact on each of the shows. Oh, and where the hell was Martian Manhunter?!
Missing Martian aside, it was nice to see all of the heroes stand side by side for the first time, even if they didn’t call themselves the Justice League.

By far best line of the crossover goes to Brandon Routh’s (who you may remember played Superman in Superman Returns) Atom when remarking that Supergirl looks a lot like his cousin.
